Choosing a profession is one of the most important life problems of a modern young person. This topic does not lose its relevance, because every year after graduation, thousands of graduates have to choose their professional path. The problem of finding a profession for young people is turning into a problem of finding oneself in this life. A huge information flow when choosing a profession leads a high school student to a state of confusion and uncertainty. We were interested in the question: "How to help high school students choose the profession that is best for them and thereby take the first step towards solving the problem of self-determination?"

The familiar phrase “choosing a profession” is filled with great meaning, how many emotions, anxieties, expectations, problems are hidden in it! This is not just a good or bad decision made in youth, but often a key decision, the first responsible and exciting step into adulthood. Who to become? This question was asked, is being asked and will be asked by students of the school, lyceum.

February 21, 2023, thanks to the efforts of the faculty of the Department of "Business Technologies" KazNU. Al-Farabi, Doctor of Economics Uskelenova A.T., Doctor of Economics Beisenova M.Yu., Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Kamali K.M., a meeting was held with graduates of KSU Specialized Lyceum No. 178.

At the meeting, the system of information, consultation, selection and adaptation activities was explained, which helps the younger generation to decide on the choice of profession and meets both their personal needs and the needs of society.

New demands in the post-industrial society are increasing due to the division of labor. In modern realities, more and more highly specialized specialists are required for the sectors of the economy and the qualitative development of human capital.

Thus, we can conclude that the career guidance of the younger generation is not only a pedagogical, but also a social problem. The more abilities a future employee can use in everyday work, the more useful he will be for the organization, society and the state, while not forgetting about internal motives and incentives. Well-coordinated work and the relationship of professional training with the content of labor functions will increase the interest of the future employee, increase efficiency and, as a result, increase labor productivity.
