The national corner "Cultural Heritage" was opened in KazNU
The opening of the national corner "Cultural Heritage" took place in the library "Al-Farabi" of the Al- Farabi Kazakh National University.
The solemn event was attended by: Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuimebaev, representative of the UN Department of Global Communications, Head of the UN Information Center in Kazakhstan Vlastimil Samek, staff of the Ban Ki-moon Center, teachers and students of the university.
Currently, KazNU regularly organizes activities in 17 areas of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Many scientific and educational projects of the leading university of the country are implemented within the framework of the SDGs and touch upon the issues of promoting intangible cultural heritage, improving the quality of life, strengthening the health of the nation and preserving the environment.
The National Cultural Heritage Corner was created according to the indicators of preservation, protection and promotion of intangible national heritage reflected in the 11 directions of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The corner in the Kazakh style is decorated in the form of a yurt with original design and ornaments. Here guests will be able not only to familiarize themselves with national clothing, national instruments, household items, but also to hold various meetings.
The corner was created to familiarize foreign students, teachers, and guests with the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people.
The educational corner can also be used as a location for photo and video shooting.
At the end of the event, the participants gathered around the "dastarkhan" and took pictures.
