KazNU develops partnership with Chinese universities in a new direction

   Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al- Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held talks with a delegation led by Secretary of the Education and Industry Commission of Shaanxi Province of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianlin. The delegation included rectors and vice-rectors of the Chinese University.

   The parties exchanged views on strengthening the partnership between KazNU and universities of the People's Republic of China, development of joint scientific projects and conferences.

   At the meeting Zhanseit Tuimebaev familiarized the honored guests with the educational and research activities of the university, as well as the strategy for further development of the university. In addition, in his speech, the rector noted that KazNU will continue to work on the development of cooperation with higher education institutions of China.

   Today KazNU pays special attention to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Within the framework of SDGs many scientific and educational projects of the leading higher education institution of the country are realized, issues of improving the quality of education, peace, justice and effective institutions, partnership for sustainable development are comprehensively covered.

   Al-Farabi Kazakh National University cooperates with almost 50 universities of the People's Republic of China. In particular, these are Shanghai University of Foreign Languages, Peking University, Wuhan University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Xinjiang University, Beijing University of Foreign Languages and others.

In turn, Liu Jianlin thanked the rector and university staff for the invitation and emphasized the importance of today's meeting.

  "This meeting will give a great impetus to the development of education and science of the two countries. In this regard, we are interested in the cooperation between the universities of China and KazNU to a new level. Many of the specialties available in higher educational institutions of China, there are also in your university. Therefore, we must successfully implement joint projects, develop work in this direction," - said Liu Jianlin.

  At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to systematically implement the above initiatives and exchanged memorable gifts.
