TRADE UNION PROTECTS THE INTERESTS OF UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEES

KazNU celebrated Trade Unions Day - a holiday that promotes the strengthening and development of the role of trade unions in civil society.

Activists of the trade union "Parasat" employees of KazNU with the holiday congratulated the chairman of the trade union Talgat Mekebayev and the chairman of PA "Kazakhstan branch trade union of students and employees of educational institutions and scientific-innovative organizations" Danat Zhanataev. During the event participants discussed, professional and important issues.

The trade union "Parasat" of KazNU employees considers assistance in social issues as its primary task. Teachers of the university recently came out of labor leave. In summer many of them improved their health in sanatoriums, sent children to school camps. As compensation for sanatorium-resort treatment and recuperation of employees in July and August, 1,136,000 tenge of compensation was given, and in September - 1,400,000 tenge. Compensation for children's camps amounted to 1,649,000 tenge.  The trade union allocated more than 1,500,000 tenge for recreation in a recreation center on Lake Issyk-Kul.  Jubilees were not forgotten either. In summer and early fall more than 40 people were congratulated. In difficult life situations, in case of illness or death of relatives, the trade union also does not stay aside. Almost 1,000,000 tenge was allocated as material aid. A lot of work is being done to provide housing for university employees, especially young people. On Teacher's Day, Senior Citizen's Day the units received financial support.

Children of employees studying at KazNU received discounts on tuition fees in the amount of 15-25% of the amount specified in the contract. The issue of discounts was brought by the trade union to the Board of Directors of "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University" and on June 8, 2023 the BOD made a corresponding decision.

Trade union activists are full of new plans and ideas and are ready to work for the benefit of the native collective.
