"The Aral See Crisis and Global Water Problem"

Within the implementation of the university project in cooperation with the United Nations and the achievement of sustainable development goals, on October 18, 2023, the lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages A. Shayahmet, M. Dzhamaldinova, G. Almabayeva, and A. Otetileuova held the "The Aral See Crisis and Global Water Problem" round table talks.

The invited speaker was PhD professor Sarah Cameron from the University of Maryland (the USA). In this event which was held in English, active participants and attendees were undergraduate and graduate students of two university faculties, namely the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Study. Professor Cameron greeted KazNU students and professors and told them about her research of Aral and presented interesting factual materials. The KazNU students also made their own presentations, as well as they answered quiz prepared by their classmates.

Besides, many of the round table talks participants expressed their own opinions. The participants of the round table talks unanimously were sending a message to everyone in their speeches – no one can stay aside from global climate problems, everyone has to participate in educating people about protection of water sources and invest in saving our planet.
