Global Partnership in Education: Kazakhstan and China

On October 20, 2023, the Department of Economics of the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, within the framework of the project “Sustainable Development Goals in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” held a round table: “Global Partnership in Education: Kazakhstan and China.”

Welcoming remarks were made by the dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business, c.e.s., Acting Professor Bimendieva L.A., and Head of the Department of Economics, c.e.s., Acting Professor Daulieva G.R. In their speeches, they spoke about the main activities and prospects for the development of the Higher School of Economics and Business and the Department of Economics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

At the round table, the director of the Kazakh-Chinese Research Center of the NORTHWEST A&F UNIVERSITY, Professor Wei Feng (China) spoke on the topic “Features of the Education system in China, using the example of NORTHWEST A&F UNIVERSITY.” The participants of the round table were shown a video about this university in China. The professor gave a presentation on the activities of the Kazakh-Chinese Research Center. This meeting contributes to the achievement of the 4th and 17th Sustainable Development Goals - quality education and partnerships for sustainable development.

The round table was attended by 1st and 2nd year undergraduates, students and staff of the Department of Economics.

During the discussion of partnership in the field of education and science between universities, it was decided to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between universities, and the main directions of collaboration were outlined.
