On October 31, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies Fatimabibi Nogaykyzy Daulet organized a scientific seminar on the topic “Main trends and principles of modern linguistics.” During the seminar, Fatimabibi Nogaykyzy stated that the conceptual analysis of the cultural codes of language as a cognitive mechanism not only provides access to human consciousness and its conceptual sphere, but at the same time, it allows us to most fully and adequately reveal the relationship and mutual influence of the trinity - language, consciousness and culture. The linguistic scientist also noted that conceptual meanings and their lexical embodiments, representing the somatic, zoomorphic, spiritual and gender codes of different linguistic cultures, realize the duality of metaphorical and metonymic meanings, each of which is highlighted brighter than the other depending on the semantic content that is actualized during comprehension one or another fragment of the comprehended world. Faculty teachers, doctoral students and master's students who took part in the seminar, during the discussion of the main topics of the seminar, came to the conclusion that the cultural codes of language (zoomorphic codes, codes of spiritual culture, gender codes, somatic codes, etc.) have an important cognitive mechanism that provides access to the human mind and its conceptual sphere, it is also a key tool to fully reveal the interrelationship and influence of language, consciousness and culture.
