“Brain Ring” on the topic: “Let’s say an absolute NO to corruption!”
According to the schedule of educational activities, on October 30, 2023, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature Mizanbekov S.K. was held a “Brain Ring” on the topic: “Let’s say a firm NO to corruption!” with the students “Digital Archiving and Documentation Science” major of al-Farabi KazNU.
To form holistic ideas about various forms of corruption, the features of its manifestation in various spheres of life, Mizanbekov S.K. prepared the situational assignments and the problem tasks. The visual aids (presentation, video clips) were used to help students understand the causes and harmful consequences of this phenomenon.
The content of the tasks corresponded to the set goals; there was a combination of frontal, group and individual work. It should be noted that the students showed cognitive interest, since the elements of the game (competition) were used: to analyze the incident, to identify the causes of corruption in a specific situation and to determine who or what was harmed by corrupt actions.
The teacher used the ratio of pre-prepared material and improvisation: verbal (brainstorming, competition “Who is faster?”), visual (word cloud, illustrations), practical methods (competition “Insert the missing word in proverbs”, for example, 1) ... rots from the head . 2) Hand by hand…. 3) One law for ..., another for .... 4) If you don’t grease, you won’t go. 5) The law that...: where you turned, that’s where you came out, etc.
The students readily answered the questions and looked for answers to tests and crossword puzzles. At the end of the event, during practical training, they completed tasks aimed at reinforcing the basic rules of the fight against corruption.
The presence of emotional contact between the participants of the event and its organizer, the novelty of information, the connection of the content with life experience influenced the attitudes, the feelings, and the beliefs of the students and became the basis for achieving their goals and a high level of implementation of educational tasks.
