KazNU hosted a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey

Professor Ilber Ortayli gave a leadership lecture in KazNU "100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. A look at the future of the Turkic world".

During the visit of the famous scientist to the university, the professor met with the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, during which the parties discussed important issues of cooperation in the field of science and higher education.

The Rector told the guest of honor that Al-Farabi KazNU cooperates with 45 higher education institutions of Turkey. For 2019-2023. 278 students of bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs traveled to Turkish universities for training, scientific and language internships, participation in conferences and research work. On the initiative of the rector of KazNU in 2022 about 50 representatives of the teaching staff and young scientists of KazNU visited universities in Turkey to exchange experience with foreign colleagues. Within the framework of the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Turkey in 2022, a branch of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi was opened in Istanbul. At the end of the meeting Zhanseit Kanseitovich thanked the guest for the visit and lecture.

The topical theme "100th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. A look at the future of the Turkic world" aroused great interest, gathering in the conference hall representatives of the management, teaching staff, scientists and students of the university.

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev congratulated Prof. Ilber Ortayli and the people of the Republic of Turkey on the 100th anniversary of Independence.

Emphasizing the merits of the famous scientist, political scientist and writer, Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature, holder of the Grand Prix of the President of Turkey in the field of culture and art, Pushkin Medal and Lazio Prize, the head of the university solemnly handed Mr. Ortayli a diploma on awarding the title of honorary professor of Al-Farabi KazNU.

In the leadership lecture, the professor emphasized the importance of deepening cultural ties between Turkic nations and cooperation in the process of strengthening integration. "The concept of the state is very important for every nation. The revival of the university comes as a result of state support," the lecturer emphasized. - This, in turn, is one of the main systems for strengthening ties between Turkish states. At the same time, it is necessary to increase cultural cooperation between the states. Studying the scientific works of medieval scholars common to the two states will contribute to strengthening cultural cooperation".
