To the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience in Al-Farabi KazNU was inaugurated the Laboratory of Biophysics named after the founding scientist of the Department, Professor Viktor Mikhailovich Inyushin.
The event was attended by renowned scientists, faculty and students of the university.
Speaking at the event, Zhamila Aitzhanova, Member of the Board-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities, noted: "Viktor Mikhailovich Inyushin is a personality who made a great contribution to the formation of biophysical science in the country. The professor was the first in the world to theoretically justify and introduce the use of lasers in medical practice", - said the Vice-Rector.
Victor Inyushin was born in 1941 in Leningrad in the family of a famous hydrostructor. In 1958-1963 he studied at the Faculty of Biology of the Kazakh State University named after S. M. Kirov. After his studies he worked as a research intern at the Department of Histology and Cytology. In 1966 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the study of laser application for the restoration of radiation injuries in animals. In 1972 he defended his doctoral dissertation, and at the age of 31 became the youngest Doctor of Biological Sciences in the USSR.
