Teaching languages to foreign students at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is among the top 30 universities in Asia, according to the results of the international QS Asia University Rankings. One of the aspects of the multi–vector activity of the country's leading university is international cooperation with the best universities in the world. Language programs   can especially be highlighted as the most popular programs in the field of international cooperation. For many years, foreign students from both near and far   abroad have studied the Russian and Kazakh languages at Al-Farabi University. The activities of our university in the field of language training of foreign students absolutely meet the objectives of the 16 Sustainable Development Goals. Students from other countries are taught Russian and Kazakh languages by highly qualified specialists of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education of the Kazakh National University. Our student contingent has a broad geography – the entire world map is represented here at the department. Exchange students live in Almaty families, studying the way of life, customs and traditions of the Kazakh people and Kazakhstanis of other nationalities. This is a great opportunity to immerse deeply into the culture of another people and understand how people live in a different country, one which has become so close and native to them.
