"The importance of heat engines and environmental protection"

In the 2023-2024 academic year, an event on the theme "The importance of heat engines and environmental protection" on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals "Climate Action" was held for 1st-year students of the specialties "Software", "Information Systems", "Jurisprudence". The event was held in the form of a debate. The defense group who challenged the opinion, expressed their opinion, arguing that modern heat engines have improved types, the principle of operation, they are used in the national economy, contribute to the development of the economy, facilitate human labor, move quickly from one place to another. The opposition group expressed its opinion, referring to the environmental problems arising from heat engines, the decrease in oxygen content in the air every year, pollution of the biosphere, disruption of the thermal balance in the atmosphere, rising air temperatures, melting permafrost and the threat of flooding of the earth's surface. Life on earth requires every person to take great responsibility for their work, to live in harmony with nature and protect it, the students expressed their suggestions. On the way to solving the problem, they came to a common solution: the invention of other types of fuels, the improvement of other types of engines, the installation of filters, cleaning the environment by planting green trees. The discussion boiled down to the fact that the research work of both sides should be aimed at the production of engines and installations that do not pollute the air, have a high efficiency, and save energy.
