Round table on the topic "Elimnin erkindigi – Tauelsizdik"

On December 7, 2023, at the Faculty of philosophy and political science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a round table "Elimnin erkindigi – Tauelsizdik" was held, organized by 3rd year students of the Department of pedagogy and educational management of the specialty "social pedagogy and self – knowledge". 
On December 16, participants of the uprising of the Kazakh youth, which shook the Soviet empire in 1986, Zhumazhan Aizharikova, Serikbek Kaliyev, Sazhida Sattarova were invited to this meeting, dedicated to the Independence Day. The guests of the evening shared their memories of the unrest of the Kazakh youth, touched upon the causes and consequences of the December events, and answered students ' questions.  
During the Round Table, a report was made on the topic "December events – the beginning of independence", a video about the history of independence was shown. At the end of the evening, patriotic poems were read, and the song "Zheltoksan zhelpe" was sung in a choir.
The results of the round table were summed up by the head of the Department of pedagogy and Educational Management N. S. Alkozhaeva: "the December events are the height of the spirit of the nation. On behalf of the student youth, I would like to express my gratitude to you for your participation in this revolution, which has taken a significant place in our national history, and for your contribution to independence. I wish you well-being, family well-being and a long life. May the future of our country be bright and our independent country prosper!",- he concluded.
