The winner of the "Best University Lecturer – 2023" contest - senior lecturer of the Department of Biotechnology of Al-Farabi KazNU Meruyert Omirbayevna Bauenova.

Under the leadership of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the national competition committee selected 150 teachers from 43 Kazakhstani universities as the best in the teaching profession. Each of them will receive a prize of 2000 MRP and a badge as a winner of the 'Best University Lecturer-2023' contest. The annual competition aims to enhance the prestige of the teaching profession and motivate teachers to pursue professional development.

A total of 768 applicants from 80 higher education institutions participated in the competition. The evaluation criteria included the development and publication of electronic teaching resources, materials, scientific publications in national and international journals, and patents for inventions. It also evaluated the applicant's teaching quality and their efforts in training personnel at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels.

Meruyert Omirbayevna Bauenova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Biotechnology at Al-Farabi KazNU, won the "Best University Lecturer-2023" contest. The winners were awarded a grant for internships, advanced training, and implementation of their scientific and educational projects at top foreign universities. Meruyert Omirbayevna Bauenova is a highly regarded teacher and young scientist in the department. She is the head of a scientific project and has authored more than 15 articles with foreign scientists, which have been published in highly rated editions and reviewed by Scopus and Web of Science bases, h-index is 6. The department congratulates her on being named the best teacher of 2023 and wishes her success in achieving her planned goals and projects.
