An innovative exhibition of KazNU scientists was held in China
The first time 30 scientists of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University under the leadership of the Rector of the University Tuimebaуev Zhanseit Kanseitovich took part in the international scientific and innovation exhibition and symposium in the People's Republic of China in Urumqi. The event, organized at the invitation of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, gathered 196 rectors and heads of research centers of local universities, representatives of more than 600 Chinese universities, heads of 40 major manufacturing enterprises and diplomatic corps of the two countries, scientists and entrepreneurs. Chinese delegation headed by Vice Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Sun Yao, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Political Consultative Council of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang University Xu Xianyi showed special interest in scientific and innovative projects of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Kurmanbaуeva Meruуert Sakenovna from January 25-27, 2024 as part of the delegation of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the scientific and innovation exhibition in Urumqi, People's Republic of China.
Within the framework of the international exhibition Al-Farabi Kazakh National University presented scientific and innovative projects patented and at the stage of commercialization. M.S. Kurmanbaуeva at the exhibition presented perennial wheat, which was first introduced into the agroculture of Kazakhstan. The greatest interest in perennial wheat was shown by scientists from China, in the future it will be discussed again, said Vice Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China.
"One of the national brands of Kazakhstan is wheat. Perennial wheat is sown only once and harvested for 5-6 years. Currently, more than 40 research centers around the world are engaged in the study of perennial crops. This project is the first study of perennial wheat conducted in Kazakhstan. The exhibition was also attended by the Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darhan Ahmed-Zaki.
As part of the international forum, an international Symposium on "Development of International Cooperation and Commercialization of R&D Projects of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the PRC" was held in Urumqi (PRC).
Scientists of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University demonstrated biologically active additives and phyto teas from medicinal plants and new antibacterial means for treatment of sturgeon fish from various diseases. The work of the exhibition continued at the international scientific symposium of universities of Kazakhstan and China. The participants of the meeting discussed common goals and directions of cooperation in the field of education and science, issues of commercialization of scientific projects of KazNU, exchanged experience.
