«Measures to prevent pollution of the marine ecosystem caused by human activities»

7 february, 2024

On February 7, 2024, senior lecturer of the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience Ursheeva B.I. held a lecture with 2nd year students of the specialty "7M01504-Biology" on the topic «Measures to prevent pollution of the marine ecosystem caused by human activities» within TDM 14, pollution of water resources, including the ocean and sea, as a result of human activities, identification of causes and sources of marine pollution. Lectures and seminars were held to take measures to prevent pollution of ecosystems.

Nowadays, water resources as well as the preservation of the ocean marine ecosystem is a serious global problem. According to statistics, more than 9 million tons of plastic enter the world's oceans every year (Science Magazine Research, 2019). The total amount of trash found in the world's oceans and seas is 5.25 trillion. are plastic products (Environmental organization Ocean Conservancy, 2016). are plastic products. This is of course human activity. because of this marine and ocean life is disappearing.

The world's oceans and seas play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity, climate, and life on Earth. However, despite their importance, our marine waters face serious problems caused by human activities. According to recent studies, millions of tons of trash of various origins enter the world's oceans and seas every year. This includes plastic waste, chemical pollutants, microfractions and other harmful substances. This pollution has serious consequences for marine habitats. Major sources of pollution include oil spills from oil platforms, industrial waste emissions and the mass use of plastic.
