Modern Literature and Youth Creativity

On February 15, 2024, within the framework of  “Quality Education” SDG4,  the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with T.K. Zhurgenov Cultural, Educational and  Creative Center organized a meeting for  the students of the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Journalism with Nurlybek Samatuly,  the editor-in-chief of the “Tan-Sholpan” magazine, a member of the Union of Writers and The Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan. The  event was  aimed at   discussing  trends in the development of modern Kazakh literature and the discovery of talents among  Al-Farabi KazNU students.

The meeting also included   the opening   of T.K. Zhurgenov Cultural-Educational and  Creative Center. The center was opened  by  the initiative of the famous Jurgen scholar, Candidate of Philological Sciences, member of the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan Imangaliev Bauyrzhan Sabitovich and head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, Doctor of  Philological Sciences, Full Professor Temirbolat Alua Berikbaykyzy.

The writer N. Samatuly, Professor A.B. Temirbolat, head of T.K. Zhurgenov Сlub B.S. Imangaliev made speeches for the students. The moderator of the meeting was a senior lecturer at the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, the member of T.K. Zhurgenov Club, Sh.A. Shortanbay.

In his speech Nurlybek Samatuly spoke about the creative searches of  modern writers. He also  shared the secrets of his writing skills and revealed the essence and the  nature of  “artistic literature” concept. Nurlybek Samatuly emphasized  its role in the development of youth’s  spiritual values and  in the formation of a harmonious personality. The writer  noted that knowledge of culture and literature was  an integral component of quality education.

During the meeting,  the students of the Faculty of Philology asked questions to the writer, read their own poems and excerpts from his works. They shared their impressions of modern literature and its dissemination on social networks. At the end of the meeting, Nurlybek Samatuly presented the first issue of  “Tan-Sholpan” magazine of 2024, assessed   the works of students, marked the best and most interesting works that will be published during 2024 in  “Tan-Sholpan” magazine.
