Round Table Discussion on the topic: "Quality Education"

On March 5, 2024, within the framework of the  UN SDG  4 “Quality Education”, there was held a round table discussion  in the dormitory No. 17 of the Faculty of Philology of al-Farabi KazNU. The 1st and 2nd year students of  “Foreign Philology” major took part in the event. The moderator was Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies,  O.A. Kuratova.

The students  spoke about  the role of foreign languages in the modern world, emphasizing that learning foreign languages is an important aspect of the life of a modern person. Knowledge of foreign languages makes it possible to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of other countries, contributes to the development of thinking, imagination and memory. Foreign language knowledge is necessary for effective interaction of states with each other in many spheres of life - science, politics, culture, art, etc.

And, undoubtedly, knowledge of foreign languages within the framework of  “Foreign Philology” major  is one of the conditions for professional competence.
