The Kazakhstan Oratory Competition in Japanese was held in Almaty

On March 16, 2024, the annual Kazakhstan Oratory Competition in Japanese took place in Almaty. The competition was organized by such organizations as the Association of Japanese Language Teachers in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Narxoz University. The Association of Japanese Entrepreneurs in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh-Japanese Silk Road Association, Iwatani Gakuen, "New & Rare resources" LLP became sponsors of the competition. In addition, the Association of Japanese of Kazakhstan and the University of Tsukuba (Japan) provided enormous support for this event.

16 students from universities and organizations such as Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, L.N. Eurasian National University took part. Gumilyov and the Kazakh-Japanese Center for Human Resource Development.

The competition was held at a high organizational level. At the end of the event, spectators were treated to a small concert program, consisting of various performances by students of the above universities, such as songs in Japanese, playing traditional Kazakh musical instruments and national dances.

As a result of the competition, 2nd-year student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Daria Kapenova entered the top three, winning third place, and 2nd-year student Rakhymzhan Malika took fifth place in the competition. At the same time, Alika Aidaralieva, a 1st-year student of the Far East Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, gave an excellent speech in Japanese and took sixth place in the competition. Now the winners who took prizes will participate in the Central Asian Oratory Competition in Japanese, which will be held in May 2024 in the city of Tashkent (Uzbekistan). We wish our participants victory!
