Chair of World History, Historiography and Source Studies of the Faculty of History on April 3, 2024 organized the International scientific and practical conference "Kazakhstan and Central Asia: History, Politics, Society" dedicated to the 70th anniversary and memory of the Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, statesman and public figure, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor K.N. Burkhanov at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Library.

The conference was devoted not only to memories of the life and labour activity of Professor K.N. Burkhanov, his formation as a historian, political scientist, lawyer, Deputy and statesman, but also his contribution and achievements in the scientific field.

The purpose of the conference is a comprehensive analysis of the scientific works of Professor K.N. Burkhanov, on the basis of which new directions for the development of the scientific sphere of Kazakhstan can be determined.

The conference included books exhibition of K.N. Burkhanov - author of more than 100 scientific works, a photo exhibition entitled "Omirinen uzik syrlar", a presentation of the book "Gibratty Gumyr" dedicated to the life of K.N. Burkhanov as well.
