KazNU discussed issues of integration of Central Asian countries
The scientific-practical conference "International experience of integration and possibilities of its use for Central Asia" was held in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event is organized by the Institute for Security and Cooperation at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which initiated a dialogue on the future of Central Asia. This important event is included in the programme of the annual Scientific Farabi Forum, which this year is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi KazNU.
The aim of the conference is to bring together experts, scholars and practitioners to discuss the prospects of regional cooperation and integration in Central Asia.
The plenary session was addressed by: member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Social Development Sabit Suatai, Director of the Institute of Security and Cooperation Kuralai Bayzakova, Ambassador, President of the India-Central Asia Foundation Ashok Kumar, representative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamoliddinhuja Abdukarimov. The moderator was the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Leila Delovarova.
The conference participants exchanged views and experiences on the following issues: geopolitical and geo-economic factors influencing the successful integration of Central Asia, the view of the countries of the region and their partners on strategic directions and mechanisms of economic cooperation in Central Asia, analyses of international experience of integration in other regions of the world and its applicability to the conditions of Central Asia.
The conference was attended by leading foreign and Kazakh researchers, representatives of diplomatic corps, foreign and domestic universities, directors of research centres of France, Latvia, PRC, India, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as faculty members of the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
