In KazNU started subject Olympiad, dedicated to the works of A.Pushkin

In Farabi library of Al-Farabi KazNU the opening of the republican subject Olympiad on specialty "Philology: Russian language" dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin. The organizer was the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi KazNU.

The Olympiad "Pushkin defeated both time and space" is aimed at revealing special professional abilities of future specialists and supporting talented students.

At the opening ceremony of the Olympiad the Dean of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bayan Joldasbekova gave a congratulatory speech to the participants of the Olympiad. Noting the greatness of the poet Alexander Pushkin's talent, the dean emphasized the versatility and relevance of the poet's creative heritage in our time.

The Olympiad is held in three rounds. In the first round the teams of students gave an oral presentation and answered linguistic and literary questions about the works of A.S. Pushkin. 

In the second round - "Brain Ring" the participants performed individually. The round was held in the form of tests, using the interactive game service "Kahoot".

As the organizers noted, all student teams showed their knowledge and good level of preparation. In total, six teams participated in the Olympiad.

The third round of the Olympiad will be held tomorrow. Students will present a theatrical dramatization of a fragment of the work of A.S. Pushkin. The creative competition will be evaluated according to the following criteria: understanding of the content of the work by the performers, ability to convey the image, artistry, stage culture, speech technique.

At the end of the Olympiad, the winners will be recognized and awarded with diplomas and certificates.
