Environmental situation in the village and the city

28 april, 2024

Concerns about the need for Environmental Protection were raised by the United Nations in 1972. At that time, the concept of” eco-development " was formed, that is, socio-economic development aimed at Ecology, in which the growth of a prosperous standard of living of people does not lead to a deterioration in the state of the environment and the destruction of natural systems. The idea of” eco-development “was followed by the idea of” sustainable development". "Sustainable development" means development that meets the needs of the current generation and does not threaten the possibilities of the next generation to meet their own needs. To date, all programs in the world are aimed at fulfilling 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN.

All activities and national programs in the country are aimed at achieving these goals. We, the teaching staff of universities, students, in this regard, carry out activities at our level to implement the goals of sustainable development. On this basis, various research centers for the study of the environmental situation began to open in higher educational institutions. For example, in the center of methods of physical and chemical analysis of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, laboratories of various directions were opened: "ecology of Biospheres", "gas chemistry", "petrochemical synthesis", etc.

Meetings are also held to improve environmental literacy. In this context, on April 28, a round table discussion on the topic:  "Environmental situation in the village and the city" was held at the Faculty of Philology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The guest of the round table discussion  was candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of analytical, colloidal chemistry and rare elements of the Faculty of chemistry and chemical technologies, Ismailova Akmaral Gazizovna, who delivered the  lectures to the  students and exchanged questions and answers.

The main purpose of the Round Table was  to introduce students to the main problems of the environmental situation in the village and the city, and to appeal to the Prevention of environmental impact.

Akmaral Gazizovna first revealed the differences between environmental monitoring and Environmental Control in the areas of analysis that study the quality of environmental objects. Urbanization, the increase in the number of cars and harmful substances from them, the abundance and non-recyclability of industrial sites and industrial waste, natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and environmental objects have highlighted the main sources that create the environmental situation today.

In addition, information was given about the elements harmful to the human body and what products contain them. In addition, the statistics of dangerous structures in the air in the cities of Kazakhstan were presented. A useful meeting was held, where answers were given to various questions of students, which had a great impact on the development of environmental knowledge and interest.
