The Arab Language and Culture Hall was opened

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a scientific seminar on "Modern approaches to teaching Arabic to foreigners".

The event was organized as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the 40th anniversary of the Arabic Studies Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The aim is to study modern approaches and methods of teaching Arabic and to determine their effectiveness.

The scientific seminar was attended by Secretary General of the UAE Academy of Arabic Language Mohammed Safi Al-Mustaganimi, Chairman of the International Institute for Cultural Diplomacy Mohammed Kamil Al-Mugaini, Rector of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak Mohammed Al-Shahhat Al-Jindi, Executive Director of the Academy of Arabic Language Mohammed Abdu Rahman, Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebaev, foreign and domestic Arabist scholars, faculty and students of the university.

During the seminar, the Arab Language and Culture Hall was inaugurated. In the future it is planned to hold lessons on Arabic language, various events of Arabic culture, as well as works on the study of Arabic history, processing and translation of works in Arabic.  

The Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev made a welcoming speech.

"Al-Farabi KazNU closely cooperates with 5 universities, scientific centers of the United Arab Emirates. At the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University successfully conducts its activities department of Arabistics. Today the new Hall of Arabic Language and Culture, which is being opened, is a fruitful result of our partnership. It should be especially noted that the equipment of the Hall was provided with the direct support of the Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, Mr. Sultan Al Qasimi. Mohammed Kamil Al Mughaini and Mohammed Safi Al Mustaganimi made a significant contribution to the opening of the room. The room is equipped with modern technology and multimedia equipment. Convenient programs for language learning have been implemented, and necessary textbooks have been purchased," the rector said.

Mohammed Safi Al-Mustaganimi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy, delivered a speech where he emphasized that learning Arabic by students is gaining popularity.

The participants discussed the issues of teaching Arabic to foreigners, in particular, conducted a comparative analysis of traditional and modern teaching methods, considered methods of teaching foreign languages, studied lexico-grammatical features.

At the end of the scientific seminar a scientific-intellectual competition among the students of the Department of Arabic Studies was held. The winners were awarded letters of thanks and special certificates.
