Experts exchanged views on the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Al-Farabi KazNU hosted an international round table "Foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the conditions of international turbulence: challenges and prospects".

The event, timed to the 90th anniversary of KazNU, was attended by: Head of the Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Almasha Arenova, representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Almaty Vlastimil Samek, Head of the Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Asel Nazarbetova, Director of the Institute of Security and Cooperation of Al-Farabi KazNU Kuralay Baizakova, foreign scientists and experts, teachers of the university.

Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU Leila Delovarova made a welcoming speech and noted that Kazakhstan during the years of Independence has strengthened its position in the international arena, established itself as a peaceful and open state, a reliable partner in global and regional affairs. "It is important for the Faculty to be not only a forge of diplomatic personnel, but also a platform uniting all stakeholders involved in the process of formation and implementation of foreign policy", - said the Dean of the Faculty L.F. Delovarova.

The roundtable brought together scholars, researchers and practitioners from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to exchange views, experiences and ideas on important issues of Kazakhstan's foreign policy.

Making a presentation, the scholars noted that in a period of international turbulence, the country's foreign policy is aimed at ensuring a peaceful and stable neighborhood, strengthening economic ties with other countries, supporting international security and cooperation in regional and international organizations. A unique style of "Kazakhstani" diplomacy has been formed.

In her report Dr. I. Baizakova, Professor of the Department of International Relations and World Economy of KazNU, emphasized the basic principles of foreign policy of Kazakhstan and noted that "Kazakhstan actively participates in all processes to ensure regional stability and security. And such participation in solving global and regional problems is a necessary condition for ensuring national security and national interests of the country".

Experts emphasized Kazakhstan's desire for peace

The country supports the principles of inviolability of state borders and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. In addition, Kazakhstan actively participates in international organizations such as the United Nations, the SCO, the CSTO, the OECD and others, where it seeks to promote its interests and cooperate with other countries in addressing global challenges.

Thus, Kazakhstan's foreign policy in the period of international turbulence is aimed at strengthening peaceful relations, stability and development both in the region and in the world as a whole.

The roundtable discussion was attended online by: Head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University (Armenia) Jacques Manukyan, Head of the Department of International Relations of UMED Ulugbek Hasanov (Uzbekistan), independent expert Sherali Rizoen (Tajikistan) and leading expert of the Institute of World Politics and Economics of the Republic of Kazakhstan Lidia Parkhomchik.
