Scientist of KazNU spoke at the scientific conference in Rome

Doctor of History, Professor, Director of the Republic scientific-research center on World History Studies K.T. Zhumagulov during his scientific trip to Rome, Italy, was at La Sapienza Universita di Roma, Facolta di Lettera e Filosofia. At a meeting with professors and researchers from the Department of History and Anthropology, he presented memorable gifts to his colleague Professor Fabio Grassi. Also professor of KazNU gave his new book, published in February 2024, “From the History of the Turkic World of Eurasia.” At the same time, he said that it was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the celebration of which began on January 15, 2024. The book contains a lot of material in English, which is very interesting for readers abroad.

As the professor said, in recent years al-Farabi KazNU made a big breakthrough in all areas of his activity: teaching, research and other important areas. Just recently, the good news came that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took 163rd place, rising 67 positions, in the QS world ranking and returned to the Top 200 best universities in the world. And as the rector of the university, prominent state and public figure Zh.K. Tuimebaev emphasized, KazNU continues to lead among Kazakhstani universities, demonstrating high achievements in all indicators.

First, Professor Fabio Grassi congratulated the entire staff of KazNU with the 90th anniversary of the university and asked the professor to convey this to Almaty. At the same time, he noted that at one time, at the invitation of K.T. Zhumagulov, he visited KazNU, where he gave lectures to students, as well as Astana, where he spoke at an international conference dedicated to the glorious anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate. It is gratifying to note, he said, that between the two universities there is a double degree program, under which the best master's students receive a solid start in life with diplomas from La Sapienza and al-Farabi KazNU. He noted that not long ago, your rector, Mr. Zh.K. Tuimebaev came to us, giving new impetus to the further integration of the two universities.

During a scientific trip, Professor K.T. Zhumagulov took part in the conference “Convegno nazionale della societa Italiana di Storia Internazionale”, dedicated to the problems of Italian society in the world history of the present time. There was an exchange of views, fruitful discussions and answers to interested questions.

In the Vatican, in the book depositories and funds of the Vatican Apostolic Library (Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana), which occupies an honorable place in the world for the antiquity and wealth of manuscripts and bibliographic rarities, Professor K.T. Zhumagulov continued significant research work on the history of the Golden Horde and its heritage. Unique sources here are letters from the popes, as well as rare chronicles, materials, and manuscripts in Latin, early Germanic and Scandinavian languages.
