A press tour for representatives of Chinese media was organized

A press tour for representatives of Chinese media was organized at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The journalists visited a number of scientific centers and laboratories of the campus and got acquainted with their activities.

The goal is to inform the Chinese population about the achievements of the university and familiarize them with the scientific infrastructure of the university.

The first thing the media representatives visited was the Research Center for Medicinal Plants. Director of the center Zhanar Zhenis told about the work being done, noting that the main purpose of production is to study medicinal plants growing in Kazakhstan. Also were presented projects that in the future will be implemented jointly with Chinese scientists. The center is equipped with modern equipment. Currently, biologically active supplements from medicinal plants and phyto teas that increase immunity are produced here.

Further, the Chinese journalists visited the branch of the Northwestern Polytechnic University, opened on the basis of KazNU. In addition, they visited the recently opened Kazakh-Chinese joint laboratory of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management "Remote Sensing Technology and Applications". The scientific center monitors environmental problems of the Central Asian region, such as water shortage, drought, land degradation resulting from climate change.

Media representatives interviewed KazNU scientists and students, where they received more detailed information about the institution of higher education. The prepared video materials will be further broadcasted on Chinese TV channels and published in social networks.
