A round table was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the participation of teaching staff of other nationalities

On June 13, 2024, а round table "What contribution can I make to the promotion of reforms in the new Kazakhstan?" was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology with the participation of the Dean of the Faculty, M.S.Kurmanbaeva and representatives of other nationalities of the teaching staff and foreign students, aimed to implement the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich given at the XXXIII session of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan which was held on April 25 titled "Birlik. Creation. Orleu".

Within the framework of this topic, the teaching staff of other nationalities expressed their thoughts and personal suggestions, as well as spoke about the state of foreign students in Kazakhstan, the quality of their education and security measures, and their housing issues. The event was attended by 4 departments of the faculty: senior lecturer of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, PhD Kegenova G.B., Zharkova I.M., Zaparina E.G.; and Kistaubayeva A.S. from the Department of Biotechnology; adviser, senior lecturer Mamytova N.S.; Lovinskaya A.V. from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics; Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience, Almira Kustubayeva.

The main purpose of the round table is to discuss the international scientific forum "Current trends in the sustainable development of biological sciences", taking into account that scientific discoveries and technological progress are relevant in biological science and are important for ensuring the well-being of mankind in the implementation of the Main Directions of the Sustainable Development Goals. At the beginning of the speech, the dean of the faculty, Professor Kurmanbayeva Meruert Sakenovna noted that "today's round table provides ample opportunities to discuss problematic issues in the field of biology, which generally have a negative impact on the environment, and to find solutions,- she noted.

 At the round table on the main topics raised at the XXXIII session of the Assembly, teachers and students of other nationalities expressed gratitude to the staff of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the Kazakh National University kieli karashanyrak. The teachers noted that during the period of aggravation of military-political, trade and economic confrontation and even cultural and humanitarian confrontation between different states in the university wall society, there are no actions of provocation or discrimination, especially with regard to the language, nationality, religion or culture of citizens seeking to stand out, isolate themselves depending on nationality. As a result of the round table, several decisions were made, including strengthening scientific research aimed at promoting reforms, and several issues were considered. We hope that this event will be one of the important steps of the faculty towards promoting reforms in Kazakhstan.
