As part of the 90th anniversary celebrations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management held an expanded roundtable discussion on June 12th on the topic "Education System in Kazakhstan: History and Development".
The foundation of the education system on Kazakh soil dates back to the Middle Ages. In the 8th-10th centuries, religious madrasas, Muslim educational institutions, commenced operations in the country. This system of education, which evolved during the Middle Ages, preserved its value up until the early 20th century, contributing significantly to the development of the Kazakh steppe and enriching it with knowledge. With the establishment of the Soviet government in the 20th century, a secular education system was instituted, undergoing extensive development thereafter.
Bekzhan Berikbayevich Meirbayev, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, and Associate Professor, emphasized, in his discussion of the round table's theme, that the foundation, position, and direction of every nation and state on Earth are intrinsically linked to their education system.
Nursulu Seitkerimovna Alkhozhaeva, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, and Professor, highlighted the paramount importance of the education system as a value, commending the contributions of domestic educators to this field.
Darkhan Dauletzhanovich Baidaliyev, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, provided a thorough analysis of madrasas and the stages of educational development in the Kazakh steppe, as well as the formation of the secular education system, in his report.
In her address, Arinova Bakyt Aituovna Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, convincingly articulated that education and science, culture and art, traditions, and worldview have indelibly marked the centuries-old history of the Kazakh people.
Students, undergraduates, and doctoral candidates who participated in the round table shared their insights and exchanged views on the subject.
