A branch of VATEL business school (France) will open on the basis of KazNU

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and VATEL School of Hotel Management and Tourism (France) announced a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening educational programs in hospitality and tourism. The new cooperation provides students with a unique opportunity to obtain a double degree combining the academic training of KazNU and the recognized international standards of Vatel.

 

The French delegation of Vatel University (France) held talks with the leadership of KazNU. The French delegation included: Consul General of France in Almaty Mr. Fabrice Neveu, Director of International Development of VATEL Business Schools Ms. Aline Renard Wang, Counselor for Cultural Cooperation of the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan Alex Bortolan and others.

The guests were welcomed by: Vice-Rector for Operations of KazNU Erkin Duisenov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Altay Kazmagambetov, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management Aliya Aktymbaeva and others.

Yerkin Duisenov thanked the French delegation for the visit and told about scientific and educational activities and successes of KazNU, which recently moved from 230 to 163 place in the international ranking QS among world universities. The Vice-Rector informed the guests about the interaction of KazNU with leading universities in France.

It should be noted that in 2022 at the VIII forum of rectors of universities of Kazakhstan and France (Paris) the contract on exchange of students under the program "Erasmus+" with the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne was signed. At the moment, four students of the Faculty of International Relations are studying at the University of Reims under the program "Erasmus+".  For 2023-2024 academic year in KazNU the number of French students amounted to 36 students and five doctoral students. KazNU actively attracted leading French scientists within the framework of the program "Attraction of foreign specialists to universities of Kazakhstan".  The participants of the meeting exchanged views and discussed a range of issues on the development of interaction.

Director of International Development of VATEL Business Schools Mrs. Aline Renard Wang thanked for the reception of the leadership of KazNU and told about the activities of the university and VATEL Business School (France). In QS World University Rankings VATEL takes the 11th place in the world, which confirms its status as a leading institution in this field. The French side noted that the partnership with KazNU is aimed at training highly qualified specialists capable of effectively managing the hotel business and developing the tourism industry in Kazakhstan and beyond. Within the framework of cooperation, students who will participate in the program will receive two diplomas: one from KazNU and the second - VATEL, which will significantly increase their competitiveness in the international labor market.

"At VATEL, we believe that the best way to learn hospitality is to experience it in different cultural contexts. Our students will have the opportunity to study and intern at any of our 55 campuses located in 31 countries including France, USA, Argentina and China," said VATEL Business Schools International Development Director Ms. Aline Renard Wang.

Graduates of the program are highly sought after by employers around the world due to the comprehensive training and real-world experience gained during the program, which provides a valuable opportunity for future employment in the best hotels in 32 countries such as USA, France, Switzerland, etc.

At the end of the meeting there was a ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement, within the framework of which it is planned to open a branch of VATEL business school in the walls of KazNU.
