25 researchers of KazNU became winners of the competition "Zhas galym"

25 young scientists of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University became winners of the grant funding competition "Zhas galym" for 2024-2026.

One of the winners of this competition was a postdoctoral student of KazNU Araylym Amanzholovna. The name of her project is creation of hydrogel forms of plant extracts on the basis of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. In the laboratory "Immobilization of medicines" the scientist conducts researches of hydrogel forms and studies their physicochemical properties and biological activity. The product made by the scientist of KazNU provides wide opportunities for solving urgent problems of medicine.
Today one of the dynamically developing branches of economy is pharmaceutical sphere. Here the share of domestic manufacturers is 25%. According to the World Health Organization, more than 80% of medicines from plant raw materials. Most diseases along with the generally accepted basic therapy require treatment with herbal medicines as well, which has led to an increased interest in the field of study of the chemistry of natural compounds.
"Our project is aimed at solving today's pressing problems. The extracts and hydrogels obtained can be used for medical purposes, for the development of soft transdermal dosage forms. Our products have a wound-healing effect. The hydrogel can also be used as a protective coating during the treatment of burns and for the treatment of dental diseases," says the young researcher.
In the future, Araylym Amanzholovna plans to purchase the necessary devices using funds allocated under the Zhas galym competition.
