KazNU students participated in the Summer School in Xinjiang University

Students of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi successfully completed the Summer School "Scientific and technical innovation and educational activities in the field of teaching geography of arid regions", which was held in the city of Urumqi.

The summer school programme included lectures on advanced scientific issues in geography, such as climate change, urbanisation processes, as well as new technologies and methods of geographical research. In addition to the educational process, excursions to museums and cultural centres were organised for students to get acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of China.

Representatives of the College of Geographical Sciences and Remote Sensing were present at the closing ceremony. The Dean of the College made a congratulatory speech and congratulated all participants on the successful completion of the first summer school. He expressed his great gratitude to all the teachers, participants and volunteers and hoped that this event left good impressions, which will also be the beginning of further co-operation between our universities.   

The importance of this event for the establishment of academic exchange and scientific ties between Kazakhstan and China was noted by PhD, senior lecturer of Al-Farabi KazNU D.K. Shokparova.

The summer school programme included many lectures, seminars and cultural events aimed at broadening students' knowledge and experience.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the organisers and teachers for the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and establish new connections. In addition, the students were presented with certificates.

The summer school, demonstrating the importance of international co-operation in education and science, was a successful platform for academic and cultural interaction.
