On October 2, 2024, the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a career guidance event for 10th-grade students of Lyceum No. 173 in Almaty. During the event, information about the department was presented, particularly regarding the educational programs 'Nuclear Physics,' 'Nuclear Engineering,' and 'Nuclear Medicine,' which sparked interest among the students. A brief overview of laboratory exercises, such as 'Determining the Range of Alpha Particles in Air' and 'Determining the Maximum Energy of Beta Radiation by the Method of Total Absorption,' was conducted in the nuclear physics lab. The students received answers to several pressing societal questions: 'Why is the construction of a nuclear power plant necessary in Kazakhstan?' and 'Is there a shortage of specialists in this field?'".
