SDG-4: Students watched the play «The Childhood That Never Was» in the theater

1 october, 2024

October is Theater Month for the students of our educational institution, and our young learners frequently attend performances that offer both educational value and profound insights into real-life events.

On October 1st, students from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics had the privilege of attending a performance of «The Childhood That Never Was» at the Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Adolescents, named after Gabit Musyrepov. This play, written by renowned poet and writer Akberen Elgezek, is based on true events and paints a vivid picture of life's harsh realities.

The play offers an unvarnished portrayal of a troubled childhood—an experience often misunderstood or taken for granted. While childhood is typically considered the happiest time of a person’s life, «The Childhood That Never Was» challenges this notion by exploring the story of a young boy who endured profound hardship. The play tells the story of a man, who lost his father at a young age, mourned his brother, and was left an orphan by his mother, undoubtedly convince us that there are difficult and varied branches of fate.

Our students were deeply moved by the raw, emotional performances. As they left the theater, it was clear from their reactions that the play had made a lasting impact.
