BOOKCLUB Farabi within the framework of SDG 4 Quality education
On October 23, 2024, within the framework of the SDG4 "Quality Education" program, a cultural and educational meeting was held in the dormitory No. 4 of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University to discuss the book by Azilkhan Nurshaikhov "Mahabbat, kyzyk mol zhyldar". The event was attended by students studying in such specialties as ecology, geography, cadastre, catering and land management, who have already completed the reading of this work in advance. The meeting was organized by senior lecturers of the UNESCO Department of Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management A.K. Tanybaeva and A.B. Kerimkulova.
During the event, the participants emphasized that the life and work of Azilkhan Nurshaikhov are an important source of spiritual and cultural heritage for the younger generation. Discussing the book "Mahabbat, kyzyk mol zhyldar", the students came to the conclusion that the author not only shows the main characters — Yerbol and Mentai — as an example of a decent man and an educated girl, but also through them transmits valuable traditions and qualities that should be a model for future generations.
Reading books brings great benefits to a person. In fact, each book is like an experienced teacher or a treasure trove of wisdom. Through reading, we can assimilate the author's many years of experience and knowledge, his searches and conclusions. Thus, reading books helps to avoid mistakes in life by studying the experience of other people. A book is an indispensable friend who shares wisdom without demanding anything in return. She is always ready to point the right way and become a faithful companion without causing boredom.
Our appeal to young people is to read books! As the great Abai said: "Excessive knowledge is in books"!
