Business School supported women entrepreneurs
Farabi International Business School has supported the Accelerate project run by the School Girls Power Foundation.
The main goal of ACCELERATE is to train and mentor 300 young women SME owners in digital and business skills, and to help them improve and expand their existing businesses, leading to more jobs and higher income.
The programme was available to women entrepreneurs from three Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The organisers received 1,509 applications for the programme and selected 351 participants.
Business School faculty, including FIBS Deputy Director Fantasia Tukembaeva and business coaches Murat Dzhakishev and Kubat Chopiev, taught weekly classes on the Zoom platform for two months on the disciplines of business expansion, financial management and entrepreneurial skills and personal development. In addition, each instructor led two mentoring groups of 10-12 people and conducted group and individual mentoring sessions.
At the end of the programme, 300 participants received certificates and 13 of them went through the final pitching process for investment. By supporting this project, Farabi International Business School has made a significant contribution to the development of women's entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. This was noted in the letter of gratitude of the independent foundation Girls Power, sent by the organiser of this programme. And the participants of the programme expressed their personal gratitude in social networks and to each teacher of Farabi International Business School.
