Student entrepreneurship supported by KazNU
Al-Farabi KazNU hosted a seminar "Launching mechanism: how to create a successful startup?" dedicated to startup projects. The seminar discussed ways and methods of activating and promoting student entrepreneurship.
The project is implemented as part of the roadmap for promotion in the rating and implementation of the SDGs of the Centre for Commercialisation of Technologies and Creative Industries of Al-Farabi KazNU.
The event was attended by business experts, management representatives, professors, teachers, scientists and students of the university.
The important and useful seminar was organised by the Centre for Commercialisation and Creative Industries, which supports start-ups and innovative projects. It also provides resources, advice and educational programmes to develop creative potential and effectively introduce ideas to the market.
Zhamila Aitzhanova, Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of Al-Farabi KazNU, opened the seminar with a welcoming speech. She reminded that in April this year within the framework of the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists ‘Farabi Yalemi’ the annual competition of innovative projects of student business incubators was held, in which 58 innovative projects took part. According to the results of the competition, the authors of 9 projects and 2 nominations were recognised as winners. They were awarded diplomas and money certificates.
‘By organising such events the University aims to inspire students to create their own innovative enterprises, so that each of you would think about creating your own workplace while you are still studying,’ the Vice-Rector stressed.
Yerbolat Orazbekuly, CEO of KENDALA Venture Company and Director of the Commercialisation Centre of Turan University, spoke about the creation of a unique venture capital platform designed to support innovative and high-tech projects, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs. The speaker emphasised the need to support student entrepreneurship and start-ups, many of which need to be further developed.
Vladimir Zatolokin, Vice President of Matriz Official International Association for activities in Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries, co-chairman of the organising committee of international competitions on space technologies and engineering Kazakhstan Smart Space, organiser of the national finals of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, presented information on opportunities for startups in the field of space technologies and spoke about international cooperation.
Almas Gauhar, Director of the Centre for Commercialisation of Technologies and Creative Industries, spoke about the importance of supporting start-ups and innovative projects in the modern world, as well as the Centre's activities aimed at developing creative industries and commercialisation of technologies.
Yergali Aktilek, founder of Daryn.online and one of the founders of Bugin Holding, shared his insights on creating successful educational platforms and current trends in EdTech.
The event was also addressed by the speakers of the seminar: Director of the Department for Scientific and Innovative Activities Margulan Ibraimov, founder of the OQU educational programme Roza Baichapanova and others.
The participants discussed key aspects of startup creation and development, presented successful examples of project implementation. Listeners asked questions and received individual recommendations. The seminar also included networking sessions, which facilitated the establishment of useful contacts and exchange of experience among the participants.
