Representatives of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty held binary lectures for HSEB students

13 november, 2024

On November 11, 2024, on the eve of the Day of the Financial System Employees of the Republic of Kazakhstan and demonstration of active contribution to the implementation of SDG-1 “Poverty Eradication,” and SDG-4 “Quality Education,” the staff of the Economics Department of HSEB received special guests from the Permanent Representative Office of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty - Mr. Vitaly Tutushkin and Ms. Hanet Ayakoz - to meet with the students of 2-3 years of bachelor's degree. The guests were invited to give binary lectures on “Money Market and Monetary Policy” within the discipline “Macroeconomics,” taught by Dinara Rakhmatullayeva, PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Economics Department, for all Bachelor's degree specialties.

Mr. Tutushkin is a 1997 graduate of KazNU, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, and Head of the Permanent Representative Office of the National Bank of Kazakhstan in Almaty. Ms. Hanet is the leading analyst of the Economic Research Department of this representative office. The guests delivered lectures in Russian and Kazakh languages for about two hundred students. Thus, the country's young generation heard first-hand from the representatives of the parent bank about the current situation in Kazakhstan's monetary and financial markets and the priorities of the current economic policy, including the prime rate of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. Students showed great interest in useful concrete information provided by lecturers, actively participated in discussions, asked many questions, and were grateful for answers.

By the way, the active organization of such meetings with well-known experts and qualified specialists of the country, as well as a university graduate, is an established practice at the Department of Economics and is evidence of the deep integration of practitioners with the academic sphere. The main advantage of such events is the involvement of future specialists in applying their theoretical knowledge, which they receive within the university's walls, to practical problems within our country. Binary lectures are beneficial for a deep understanding of the discipline, so the staff of the Department of Economics will further develop this experience.
