SDG-4. A scientific seminar was held
A scientific seminar titled “Postulates of Scientific Research” was held at the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, initiated by Associate Professor K. Kabylgazina for master’s and doctoral students.
Interest in scientific research is growing day by day, and improving the quality of scientific work has recently become a highly relevant issue. The purpose of scientific work is to analyze the aspects of scientific research, reveal the essence of the problem, and comprehend the characteristics and logic of the scientific research process. It also involves outlining the methodological content of research and its implementation stages. The formation of scientific knowledge and the ability to conduct independent research are key to achieving set scientific goals. This process is directed toward uncovering the unknown, implementing unique ideas, and exploring issues from new perspectives. The work is characterized by systematicity: the research process and its results are structured and ordered, with a focus on evidence-based, systematically substantiated conclusions. Initial ideas undergo targeted and systematic refinement, with ongoing modifications, additions, and clarifications that develop the research framework.
The result of scientific research is knowledge that takes the form of concepts, laws, and theories, thus revealing the origins, functions, and development patterns of phenomena, as well as delving into their essence. The main tools of theoretical research include a comprehensive, well-structured set of scientific methods and an interconnected set of concepts and terms that constitute the language of science. After extensive evaluation, research results are published in scientific works (articles, monographs, textbooks, dissertations, etc.) and are subsequently implemented in practice, taken into account in practical knowledge processes, and incorporated into regulatory documents. Thus, human activities in all fields (scientific, practical, etc.) are determined by a number of factors. A scientist’s level and research outcomes are assessed based on publications in global journals and the number of citations by other scientists.
An important issue is the practical application of scientific results—their benefits to society, the nation, and the economy, as well as the innovations they introduce. After covering these issues, the seminar analyzed the requirements for articles in Scopus. The discussion emphasized the relevance of the problem, its causes and origins, the need for specific examples, and the complexity of the issue with detailed examples.
The scientific seminar was conducted at a high level. Young researchers showed interest and received answers to their questions.
