THE FACULTY OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS HOSTED AN INTERNATIONAL ROUND TABLE ON CURRENT TRENDS IN INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

An international round table "Current trends in the international migration process: challenges and processes" was held at the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi KazNU.

The purpose of this event is to strengthen the multilateral dialogue on international migration in the context of new realities and sustainable development. The round table was attended by representatives of the expert and scientific community, practitioners, representatives of government agencies.

The round table was opened by Gulnara Baikushikova, Head of the Department of International Relations and World Economy at al-Farabi KazNU, who noted the role of migration issues in research and in modern international processes.

Leila Delovarova, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and World Economy, al-Farabi KazNU. "Current trends in modern migration processes in the context of security, cooperation and sustainable development: using the example of the Eurasian space."

Nurkhan Zhaliev, Managing Director of the Department of Analytics and Strategic Development of the НАО "Фонд Отандастар", "Communication strategy in the Diaspora policy of Kazakhstan in the context of current migration trends".

 Marina Khramova, Director of the Institute of Demographic Research of the Federal Research Sociological Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences "Russian Compatriots in the Countries of Greater Eurasia: strategies of interaction and adaptation in the host society (using the example of Southeast Asian countries)".

Botagoz Rakisheva, Director of the Public Opinion Research Institute, National Representative of the World Association of Public Opinion Researchers (WAPOR) in Kazakhstan "Kazakhs abroad: main trends, countries, motives".

Denis Dzhivaga, Director of the Kazakhstani International Bureau for Human Rights (KIBHR). "The impact of geopolitical processes on the migration situation in Central Asia."

Gulnash Askhat, PhD, Head of the Department of International Relations of Abylai Khan University (KAUIR&WL);

Svetlana Kozhirova, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

Murad Shamilov, senior lecturer at KAUIR&WL;

Zulfiya Baimagambetova, Deputy Head of Scientific and Innovative Activities and International Cooperation of the International Law Chair at al-Farabi KazNU.

The organizers of the round table noted the connection with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) UN - SDG 10 (reducing inequalities) and SDG 17 (partnerships for the Goals) to achieve common goals. KazNU is the global hub of the UN-UNAI (Academic Impact) program and promotes all 17 SDGs. The round table was held with the support of the asset of the Regional resource center for information support about the UN FIR.
