On November 15, 2024, a curatorial educational session was held with first-year students of the "Natural and Technogenic Hazards" program on the topic "Currency Day: National Importance," dedicated to National Currency Day.
In 1992, the National Bank approved the designs of the tenge banknotes, and on November 12, 1993, the First President signed a decree on the introduction of the national currency. On November 15 of the same year, Kazakhstan's national currency, the tenge, was introduced into circulation, becoming an important symbol of the country's independence.
The artists who created the design of the tenge were Timur Suleimenov, Mendi Alin, Agymsaly Duzelkhanov, and Kairolla Abzhalelov. In 1992, the portraits for the tenge design were approved, and the banknotes were printed in the United Kingdom. By presidential decree, since 1997, November 15 has been celebrated as the birthday of our currency and as Financier's Day.
Our national currency is closely tied to the formation and development of independent Kazakhstan. The history of the state, significant historical events, prominent figures, memorable dates, and achievements in culture and sports are reflected on paper banknotes and coins. The introduction of the tenge ensured economic sovereignty, the implementation of its own monetary policy, and deeper reforms.
Today, the significance of the tenge lies in its status as an important symbol of Kazakhstan's sovereignty, its role in regulating the country's financial system, and its representation of Kazakh history and culture.
Our national currency continues to prove its stability day by day. This is because it is our national currency. May our tenge grow, and may our incomes increase!
