The graduation ceremony for students of the Japanese department took place
On December 19, 2024, as part of the next extended meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, diplomas were awarded to students of the Japanese department majoring in "6B02302 — Translation" and "6B02307 — Oriental Studies," who successfully defended their theses after returning from Japan under the academic mobility program.
Special attention was drawn to the participation of students who received the prestigious MEXT and JASSO scholarships from the Japanese government, which provided a unique opportunity for advanced studies at the best universities in Japan. Students Kazhen Shakhislam, Pazylbekova Diana, Erezhepova Rakhima, and Turganbek Ulykbek underwent a one-year academic mobility program at such universities as Osaka, Sophia University, Hokkaido University, and Daito Bunka University. This allowed them to expand their knowledge and practical skills in the field of Japanese language and culture.
During their time in Japan, the students not only improved their language proficiency but also learned how to work with the country’s cultural and social peculiarities, which became the basis for their thesis projects. Upon their return, they successfully defended their works, demonstrating a high level of preparation and deep knowledge gained during their studies abroad.
The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies emphasized that student participation in the MEXT and JASSO programs is a significant milestone in their education and an excellent example of how international cooperation helps develop competencies in intercultural communication and translation. She expressed confidence that such projects not only improve the quality of education but also strengthen ties between Kazakhstan and Japan.
We congratulate the graduates on the successful completion of their studies and thesis defenses and wish them success in their future careers and lives!
