Training seminar on "New methods and techniques used in teaching foreign languages"

On 16 January 2025, senior lecturer of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education Aitpayeva A. S. held a training seminar on ‘New methods and techniques used in teaching foreigners the language’. The event took place under SDG #4 ‘Ensure comprehensive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’. The seminar discussed the feasibility and effectiveness of using digital educational technologies in teaching Kazakh and Russian to foreign students, and the choice of a digital platform for these purposes. The key issue was that teachers need to select such a tool that will allow them to create a product characterized by a wide range of possibilities, public accessibility and functionality in a short period of time. At the workshop, Google forms, a free online form building application, was suggested as such a tool, as it sufficiently fulfils these requirements.  While Google Forms does not have all the flexibility and features that more advanced form builders have, it covers the basic features including short answer, multiple choice, linear scale, etc. The training session provided participants with step-by-step instructions on how to use this platform. The workshop was fruitful and useful for the participants.
