"The main mentor of a child is a parent" (within the framework of ODM: Gender Equality)

17th February 2025, a seminar for parents was held at school-gymnasium №25 in the city of Talgar on the topic "The main mentor of a child is a parent" (within the framework of ODM: Gender Equality). The event was organized by 1st-year doctoral students of the "Social Pedagogy" specialty of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science with the support of the teaching staff of the Department of Pedagogy and Education Management of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences B. Imanbekova, Senior Lecturer A. Masimbayeva and Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences B. Arinova.  The seminar was attended by teachers and doctoral students of the Department of Pedagogy and Education Management, employees of the district police department, public figures, parents of students from 42 schools in the city of Talgar, as well as representatives of the media. The purpose of the seminar was to draw attention to the role and responsibility of parents in raising children, the peculiarities of raising boys and girls, as well as the importance of cooperation in this process. During the event, participants shared their vision of the role and responsibility of parents in the family, discussed issues of raising boys and girls, as well as current problems that arise in the process of raising children. After the exchange of views and conducting business games, participants were invited to fill out questionnaires relating to the issues discussed. Based on the results of the survey, effective ways to increase parental responsibility and improve family education were identified. In conclusion of the seminar, it was concluded that the basis of a happy family is the creation of harmonious relations between its members, based on mutual respect and kindness.
