Lecture and Master Class: “Kazakh Art: Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Development Trends”

On February 18, 2025, the Qazaq-Oner Craftsmen Center hosted a lecture and master class on the topic “Kazakh Art: Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Development Trends.” The event’s speaker was Dr. Aigul Zhanserikova Zheksenbaevna, Ph.D., President of the National Association Qazaq-Oner, founder of the Aigul Line brand, art manager, and expert in the creative industries.
During the meeting, key aspects of preserving and promoting Kazakh art were discussed, as well as its adaptation to modern trends. Dr. Aigul Zhanserikova shared valuable insights on traditional crafts, national costumes, ornaments, and their symbolism, as well as new opportunities for the development of creative industries in Kazakhstan. She emphasized the importance of integrating cultural heritage into contemporary design and fashion, highlighting the global potential of Kazakh national art.
The master class attracted great interest from students, faculty, and young researchers. Participants had the opportunity to engage in the practical creation of traditional Kazakh elements in a modern style, ask questions, and receive professional recommendations from an expert.

The event took place in a warm and inspiring atmosphere, contributing to the professional growth of participants and expanding their knowledge of Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage. Such meetings strengthen partnerships between the academic community and representatives of creative industries, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals—“Quality Education” and “Partnerships for Sustainable Development.”
