Faculty Members of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Participated in an Introductory Webinar of the JoVE International Scientific Video Platform. SDG 4 and SDG 9

19 may, 2025

On May 19, 2025, faculty members of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, including the Vice Dean for Research, participated in an introductory webinar organized by JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments) — the world’s leading platform for scientific visual content.

During the webinar, JoVE representatives introduced the platform’s features, to which KazNU recently received full institutional access. Participants were presented with:

  • educational videos in the natural and technical sciences,
  • interactive quizzes,
  • laboratory demonstrations and scientific methodologies are designed to deepen students’ understanding and support research activities.

Special attention was given to the effective use of video content in the educational process and the platform's potential to enhance students' digital literacy and support interdisciplinary research.

Participation in this event aligns with the university’s priorities in digitizing education and integrating innovative teaching formats. With access to JoVE, faculty and students can apply advanced visual resources in academic courses across physics, nanotechnology, energy, and engineering.

This step also contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all;
  • SDG 9 – Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

The Faculty of Physics and Technology continues actively integrating digital resources into the educational environment, expanding access to the best international practices and scientific knowledge for educators and students.
