KazNU actively engages practicing physicians to assess the skills of third-year students majoring in Medicine.

Healthcare professionals have the opportunity to personally assess the level of training of future doctors, as well as share their professional recommendations and suggestions to make the educational process even more effective and practice-oriented.
Thus, on June 24–25, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) hosted an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for third-year students studying in English. The examination was organized under the leadership of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gauhar Medeubayevna Kurmanova.
The examination board included representatives from practical healthcare institutions. Among them was Tekken Akbayan Nasredinkyzy, Acting Head of Pulmonology Department No. 3 at City Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Almaty. She successfully combines clinical practice with teaching and actively contributes to the training of young professionals. As part of the exam, Akbayan Nasredinkyzy assessed students’ skills on the topic “Physical Examination of a Patient with Respiratory Symptoms.”
Also participating in the exam was general practitioner Mohammed Nonnakh from City Polyclinic No. 5 under the Almaty Public Health Department.
Both institutions — City Clinical Hospital No. 1 and City Polyclinic No. 5 — are official clinical training bases of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare at Al-Farabi KazNU.
Such close cooperation between the university and medical organizations helps build a strong foundation for the training of qualified personnel for the healthcare system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
