The Knowledge Caravan sets off in Western Kazakhstan

4 july, 2025

Initiated by the Institute for Advanced Training and Continuing Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the "Knowledge Caravan" project has launched in the West Kazakhstan Region.

The project's primary goal is to provide residents of rural areas with access to Kazakh and English language education and to expand their social and professional opportunities through language competency. Courses are conducted offline, ensuring direct engagement between instructors and learners.

The first stops of the caravan include Aksai city and the villages of Börli, Zharsuat, Akbulak, and Pugachev. Each location saw a high level of participation and enthusiasm from locals of different ages and backgrounds.

Classes are delivered by experienced instructors from KazNU. Among them are Gulsima Kurbankyzy Dairabekova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies (MA, PhD candidate), and Dr. Zhanar Sarsenbai Asylkhanovna, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Linguistics named after A. Baitursynuly.

The course focuses on building basic language skills, improving listening and speaking abilities, and practicing vocabulary relevant to real-life situations. Sessions are held in a warm and supportive atmosphere, with active involvement encouraged.

Throughout July, the project will cover additional villages and is expected to expand to other regions in the future. The "Knowledge Caravan" represents not just a bridge between the university and rural areas, but a tangible commitment to educational accessibility for all.
