FIRST EXTENDED MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL OF THE FACULTY OF GEOGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT IN THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
On September 1, 2025, the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management held the first extended meeting of its Academic Council, marking an important milestone at the start of the 2025/2026 academic year. The session symbolized the beginning of a new academic period and outlined the faculty’s main priorities for the near future.
In her welcoming remarks, Dean Aliya Sagyndykovna Aktymbayeva emphasized the importance of unity within the faculty, expressed gratitude to the teaching staff for their dedication, and congratulated everyone on the beginning of the academic year. She highlighted the achievements of the past period and identified key directions for the future — enhancing the quality of educational programs, advancing scientific research, and strengthening international cooperation.
The meeting continued with an address by Alina Kulbaevna Galeeva, Member of the University Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, who warmly congratulated the faculty staff on the new academic year and presented the university’s strategic priorities. In her speech, she placed particular emphasis on the recent regulatory changes concerning teaching load, credit structure, educational process planning, and salary-related issues.
During the session, the faculty members discussed the organization of academic, research, and international activities, academic integrity, as well as the introduction of digital technologies and innovative approaches to teaching. The significance of the faculty’s participation in sustainable development projects and its role in preparing competitive specialists was also underlined.
The meeting was held in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue. The teaching staff expressed their readiness for productive collaboration, noting that the consolidation of efforts will further strengthen the faculty’s position as one of the leading academic and research divisions of the university.
