KazNU and CNRS hold archaeological master class in France

Scientists of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University are taking part in an international master class for young archaeologists of Central Asia, which is taking place in the French city of Jonzac.
The master class was organized by the first Kazakh-French scientific center, the ZooStan Archeozoological Center for the Study of Central Asia at al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the support of one of the leading scientific institutions in France, CNRS.
The opening ceremony of the master class was held with the support of the French Embassies in Central Asia, the French Ministry of Culture, local authorities and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to France Gulsara Arystankulova delivered a welcoming speech, noting the uniqueness of the event and KazNU's contribution to the development of international academic cooperation.
Dosbol Baigunakov, Dean of the Faculty of History of KazNU, read out a greeting from Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board and Rector of KazNU, who emphasized the achievements of Kazakhstani archaeologists and the importance of international dialogue.
Among the speakers are representatives of CNRS, the National Institute of Archaeological Research of France, curators of cultural heritage and leading researchers from France, Italy, Peru, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan.
The program includes lectures, workshops, archaeological excavations at the Chez Pinaud monument, guided tours and laboratory research.
The master class will last until September 17, 2025 and will become the basis for new joint scientific initiatives.
